About
WildWestLand.co.uk is the companion website for Cowboy Country owners, designed to offer news, events and visiting information for everyone who has bought or been given their own piece of the Wild West.
The Wild West Land blog is written by Chris Hails who’s been an avid devotee of cowboy culture and the American West since 1980. That’s me pictured wearing my first cowboy hat and carrying a rifle at Disneyland that very year. The hat and rifle I don’t mind but I’m not so sure about the sandles nowadays.
This blog is a slowly evolving diary of all things western-themed that I stumble across on a daily basis. Once you get a liking for the American West you can’t help but be drawn to odd snippets of news on all kinds of topics so here these virtual cuttings will reside, just in case there are others out there who share my interest.
Bookmark the blog, subscribe to the RSS feed or sign up to the podcasts on iTunes. I’ll be writing about travel, entertainment, history, politics and any other subject that has a passing relevance to the United States and welcome comments and feedback.
Chris Hails currently resides in New Zealand, holds a degree in American Studies and worked as a journalist before turning to web development through his company MungoWeb. He founded the American-themed retailer Cowboy Country to offer a unique online gift, the chance to own a piece of the Wild West. This blog serves as a good testing ground for the modular development power of WordPress as an open source CMS.
